Obituary of Robert B Van Pelt Robert B Van Pelt, 71, a longtime area resident, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at the Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Born on July 26, 1950, in Poughkeepsie, NY, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Amy (Doherty) Van Pelt. Robert always enjoyed figuring out and tinkering with computers and technology, especially remote control cars. He often spent time watching NASCAR, tinkering on his motorcycle and cars. Before working at IBM in Poughkeepsie and East Fishkill for a number of years, Robert owned his own TV repair and installation shop, called RoJo, with his longtime friend John Chalmers. Survived by his sons, Robert Van Pelt and his wife, Kimberley, of Tivoli, NY, and Michael Van Pelt and his wife, Robin, of Kingston, NY; his grandchildren, Alex, Alyssa, Kayla and Hailey; in addition to extended family and friends. Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on January 7, 2022 from 5PM to 6PM.
