Obituary Robert (Rob) Alexander Follit, of Rockville, passed away December 11, just several days ahead of his 80th birthday. Beloved by so many, Rob will be remembered as a loving husband, proud and caring father, kind neighbor, and as someone deeply committed to his faith and the service of others within the community. The eldest of three brothers and born in Staten Island, NY to William and Helen Follit, Rob grew up as an avid athlete (swimming and tennis), joined the US Army, achieved his bachelors and MBA, and built a 50+ year career spanning computing and wealth management. Above all else, Rob was committed to the betterment of his community as a 30+ year member of the Rotary Club of North Bethesda, former vestry member at Christ Episcopal Church, and active member of the Old Farm Swim & Paddle Tennis club and North Farm neighborhood. Rob’s memory lives on in those who have loved him, and is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jane Follit; daughter Samantha Follit of Brooklyn, NY; daughter and son-in-law Courtney and Mac McGlynn of Dallas, TX; brother and sister-in law William and Evelyn Follit of Naples, FL; sister-in-law Laurie Follit of Sutton, MA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Carol and Bob Brand of Highland Village, TX. Rob is predeceased by his youngest brother, John Follit. He is survived by 13 nieces and nephews and a large and extended family and friend group that will remember him for his wit, curiosity, and love of a warm chocolate chip cookie. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, December 17 at Christ Episcopal Church, Rockville, 109 S Washington Street.
