Obituary Richard Michael Kacsuta, age 80, died Monday, December 12, 2022. He was born on November 14, 1942 in Squirrel Hill to Mary Danchenko and Thomas Kacsuta. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Thomas and Robert. He is survived by his children Heidi (Max) Pedicone and Richard Jody Kacsuta, and their mother Pam. He is also survived by his sister Mary Ann (John) Tihey and his grandchildren Jace and Samara Pedicone. Rich grew up in Squirrel Hill. After serving in the Army, he returned home to work at Mesta Machinery in Homestead. He moved to Ligonier and worked for The Volkswagen plant in New Stanton for many years. After a few years in sales, he retired to spend his time doing what he loved the most; fishing with his son RJ, eventually opening up a fishing store in Ligonier where he and RJ spent hours talking to local fisherman and capturing photos of the big catches. Outfitting children with their first rod was one of his most enjoyable pastimes. In accordance with his wishes there will be no public services. Richard is the third family member to donate brain tissue to the Harvard University Autism Tissue Program.
