He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Ethan Bailey; his daughter, Leanna Mace; his brother and sister in law, Tommy and Pam Bailey. Richard is survived by his loving wife, Jimmie (Loftin) Bailey; son, Richard Bailey Jr. and wife Christy, of Baytown, TX; daughter, Brandi Cassidy; daughter, Julie Shirley and husband Mark, of Deer Park, TX; daughter, Lovella Mesler, of Alvin, TX; son, Quinton Hollis and wife Tish, of Moscow, TX; daughter, Heather Tieskotter and husband Eric, of Onalaska, TX; Keri Leblanc and husband Kenneth, of La Porte, TX; sister, Carolyn Bailey, of Navarre, FL; brother, Jerry Bailey and wife Leila, of Trinity, TX; brother, Barney Bailey and wife Judy, of Deridder, LA; brother, Dale Bell and wife Loretta, of Kaplan, LA; brother, Buddy Bailey and wife Pam, of Lake Charles, LA; sister Connie Campbell and husband Jessie, of Kolin, LA. Richard had 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, who he loved very much. After graduating from DeRidder High School, Richard began his career in the plumbing and A/C field, but quickly pursued a career as a fireman where he spent his time fighting fires and saving lives. He loved every minute of it. He then became a Chief Arson Investigator for Harris County for several years after that. Eventually, Richard turned in his fire badge to become a police officer for more than 20 years. He served as a Constable for Trinity County for 10 years. He then served the remainder of his career with the Polk County Sheriff’s and San Jacinto County Sheriff’s offices, from which he retired as a Lieutenant in 2016. Richard was a God fearing man and remained active in church throughout his life. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman, even building his home on the lake with his own hands. He enjoyed deer hunting, but more than that he loved watching the deer from his back door as they fed at the feeder he had placed in the yard. Richard loved his family and enjoyed get-togethers and reunions, especially if it meant he could showcase his cooking skills. His family meant the world to him. He will be deeply missed by all.
