Obituary Richard Dean Chaney, 64, formerly of Pikeville, KY, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 23, 2022. He is preceded in death by his mother and father Edna and John Chaney; sister-in-law, Donna; and his uncle, Russ Chaney. He is survived by his loving wife and high school sweetheart, Brenda Chaney; daughter, Susan Renee (Matthew) Brown; two grandsons, Mason Richard and Matthew David Brown; the best sister-in-law, Billie Jean (Jimmy Adkins) Hopkins, Margie(Johnny) Owens, Pamela (Chuck) Ratliff, Sherry (Rife) Marrs; brother-in-laws, Gobel (Julie) Ratliff and Ronnie Adkins; and mother-in-law, Lois Ratliff. Revelations 21: 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. Services will be held at Mountain View Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday, August 28th, 2022. Visitation will start at 2pm and continue until 4pm. The service by Pastor Jack Hitch will immediately follow at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests quilts and other items to preserve the memory of their loved one.
