Richard “Dick” Kadera, 81 died December 15, 2022 at his home in Salisbury, MD surrounded by his family. Dick was born in Waterloo, IA to Leonard and Edith Kadera, the oldest of 13 children. He attended catholic schools and graduated from Northeast Catholic High School in Philadelphia, and attend St. Thomas College in St. Paul, Mn for 2 years. He married Sandra “Sandy” Howery in 1964 and had four children. He held various jobs throughout his life and after attending Hawkeye Tech Community College in Iowa he earned an Associate’s Degree in aircraft maintenance and was hired by Henson/ Piedmont Airlines in Salisbury where he worked until his retirement. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Teresa and loved daughter Jill Marie Rauch. He is survived by his wife Sandy, Christine Gonzalez (Henry) of Salisbury, Scott Kadera (Susan) of Durango, CO, Son-in-law Eric Rauch of Milford, DE, & Jeffrey Kadera (Paola) of Salisbury, 9 grandchildren, Tyson, Brandy, Alex, Daniel, William, Samuel, Emily, Nickolas and Lucas, 5 great-grandchildren and 3 step great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind 11 brothers and sisters, and many nieces and nephews. Dick was a devote Catholic and served the Lord in various ministries. He was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus serving as Grand Knight in Iowa. Dick was a generous and caring man, and was always willing to help others. His funeral services will be held on January 5, 2022, with visitation at 10 am and Mass at 11 am.at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Salisbury. The Mass will be live streamed on the YouTube channel.
