Gregory Todd Hewitt
Gregory Todd Hewitt, age 61, of Brownwood passed away suddenly of natural causes on Wednesday, July 27, 2022.
A private memorial will be held at a later date in his home state of North Carolina. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Todd was born on September 19, 1960, to Richard and Rebecca (Bandy) Hewitt in Newton, North Carolina. He was a graduate of Brownwood High School and was a proud starting lineman on the 1977 and 1978 state finals football teams, winning Brownwood’s 6th state title his senior year. He began working at Superior Cable in 1983 and was still employed there at the time of his passing. He was an avid NASCAR and hockey fan and loved the Houston Astros even before it was ‘cool’ to do so. He was also a dog lover and cherished his lab mix, Coaltrain and German Shepherd, Eldora.
He leaves behind no spouse or children but was fiercely proud and loving of all his nieces and nephews whom he loved to tease and spoil.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Hewitt. Left behind to cherish his memory are his mother, Rebecca Hewitt of Newton, NC; 2 brothers, Tony Hewitt and wife Rhoda of Brownwood, Jason Hewitt and wife Michelle of Lawndale, NC; sister, Heather Martin and husband Kenneth of Newton, NC; nephew, Hayden Hewitt and wife Katie and their sons, Connor, Cooper, & Weston (on the way) of Burnet; niece, Hannah Spinks and husband Kirby and their daughter, Saige of Brownwood; nephew, Layton Hewitt and wife Kelsey of Lincolnton, NC; nieces, Olivia Martin, Abby Martin, and Kyra Martin of Newton, NC.
