Obituary

Kulpmont – Marilyn Swatski, 78, of 1155 Scott Street, passed away June 26, 2022 at her residence.

She was born on November 7, 1943 in Danville, the daughter of George and Clara (Osman) Shiko.

Marilyn was a graduate of Kulpmont High School, class of 1961. She was employed at the Ann Joachim House, Kulpmont.

On May 21, 1966, she married Frederick P. Swatski Jr., who preceded her in death on October 19, 2008.

Marilyn was a member of the Church of the Holy Angels and the East End Fire Co. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and going to Columbia County to enjoy the property.

Marilyn is survived by two sons, Frederick P. Swatski III of Kulpmont, and Michael R. Swatski Sr and wife Fran (Alexander) Swatski of New Bern, North Carolina; a daughter, Lori Washuta and soulmate, Michael Benedetto of Sunbury; three grandchildren, Aleksandr Washuta, Jonathan Washuta, and Michael R. Swatski-Iuli Jr. and husband, Pete; a sister-in-law, Judith Swatski; many nieces and nephews; and her fur baby Petey. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Kerren Shiko; and a brother-in-law, Robert Swatski.

Funeral Service in memory of Marilyn and Frederick will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022 at 11 a.m. with Father Andrew Stahmer officiating in the Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott St., Kulpmont. Burial will follow in St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Marion Heights. Visitation will be held Friday, July 8, 2022 from 9:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, Malcom C. Farrow IV, Supervisor.
