The son of the late Paul and Charlotte (Slater) Haynes. Paul lived in Pleasant Valley CT most of his life. He attended grammar school in Pleasant Valley and graduated from Gilbert High School in Winsted. He went on to college and then into the Air Force for the next four (4) years as an airborne radio operator. He was stationed at Loring Air Force base in Limestone, Maine where he met his wife. He married Marquis Theresa Chapman on September 17, 1955 in Caribou, Maine. He is survived by his children, Debra Brydon and her husband George of Pleasant Valley and two grandchildren, Katie Parrott and Chris Parrott and wife Reagan and two great grandchildren Henry and Finley. His daughter, Donna Lee McGrane of Pleasant Valley and three grandchildren, Jessica McGrane, Shannon McGrane and Timothy McGrane and wife Morgan and two great grandchildren, Paityn and Marlie. His daughter, Kathryn Haynes Lovetere and her husband Michael of Torrington and two grandchildren Maria Lovetere and Matthew Lovetere. His son, Peter Haynes and wife Shannon of Breckenridge, Colorado and two grandchildren, Peter Haynes and Sam Haynes. He is predeceased by his wife, Terry, a son, Paul Lee Haynes, III, a brother, Floyd Victor Haynes and a sister, Patricia Crossman. Paul and Terry bought a small house in Pleasant Valley in 1956 and spent many years enlarging and renovating their home to accommodate their growing family. Paul worked at Chandler Evans of West Hartford as a design engineer for 33 years. He loved golfing, skiing and motor cycle riding. He ski patrolled at Satan’s Ridge (Ski Sundown) and Butternut Basin for many years. He was a Ski patrol Leader for many years and received his National Ski Patrol Number 4800. Paul was also very active with the VFW Post 296 in Winsted. Burial will be held privately with the family in the Spring.
