MILDRED “Millie” (née Ghenender) ORLAN, 88 years old of Weston, Florida, passed away peacefully in her home on December 2, 2022. A private funeral service will be held on December 8, 2022 at Beth David Memorial Gardens, Hollywood, Florida. Following the funeral service, a private Shiva will be held at the Orlan residence in Weston. Proud mother of Lawrence Greenspon (Angela), Rick Orlan (Sharyn), Jeff Orlan (Paula). Grandmother to Maja, Josh (Cara), Daniel (Juliana), Mac, Carter, Ryan and Kevin. Sister to Audrey Achtman (Sam) and brother Ronnie Ghenender (Ingrid). She is preceded by her husband Paul Orlan who passed in 2015 and her youngest sister Linda Abrahamson who died in 2019. Millie was well known for her joie de vivre, sense of humor, and her love of fashion, classical music, opera, and dance. Most recently she enjoyed being with her entire family to celebrate the marriage of Josh and Cara Orlan, less than a week before her passing. Born in Montreal, Canada, Millie and Paul moved to Florida in 1977 to build a life with their family. She was always proud to support Holocaust education initiatives with her husband Paul and watch her children and grandchildren contribute to important community work and meaningful causes that help improve the lives of others. Millie is now in the arms of her forever love, her beloved husband Paul. May she forever rest peacefully. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mania and Max Nudel Holocaust Learning Centre in Davie Florida: www.dpjcc.org/about/mania-and-max-nudel-holocaust-learning-center.
