Matthias L. Breuer, age 90, of Glenville, died peacefully on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Rest Haven-York. Born in Aachen, Germany on August 2, 1932, he was the son of the late Wilhelm and Josefine (Yosten) Breuer. He was the loving husband of Christa M. (Fischer) Breuer. Matthias and Christa immigrated to the United States in 1961, moving to Baltimore, MD. Educated as an architect in Germany, he went to work for a commercial interior manufacturing company in Maryland. He was an interior architect and VP for the company. He designed interiors for many banks, stores, galleries and museums, and was especially proud to design a renovation project at the Hirschhorn Museum of the Smithsonian Institute. He also designed his home as well as designed and built many of the furnishings in the home. Matthias enjoyed cross country skiing, and gardening. He enjoyed working the land at his Glenville home on his garden tractor and other equipment. In addition to his wife, Matthias is survived by his son Ronald Breuer, and his wife Dottie of Kennett Square, Matthias’ daughter Regina Booy, and her husband Tim of Chehalis, WA, his brother Karl Breuer of Aachen, Germany, his grandchildren Katherine, Daniel, Joshua Booy, Maria Booy, Anna Booy, Sarah Burbee, and her husband Sawyer and his great-grandson Sven Burbee. He was preceded in death by his sister Anni Schoenwald and his brother Hubert Breuer. A memorial mass will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5055 Grandview Road, Hanover.
