Haroulakis, age 37 of Warsaw, IN, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Parkview North Regional Medical Center of Fort Wayne, IN. Matthew was born to Richard and Ann (Creighbaum) Jensen on February 25, 1985 in Leominster, MA. He was a resident of the area since 2000 and several locations during his military career. He worked for LaSalle Bristol in Elkhart IN, in the human resources department as well as his military positions. He graduated from Triton High School in 2003, then he went on to get his master’s degree in business administration from Bethel College and Midwest Horse Shoeing School in Macomb, IL. He loved his family, he was an artist, horse fairer, a great metal worker, and he enjoyed fishing, and animals as well as being an outdoorsman. Matthew served in the United States Army in Afghanistan from June 3, 2006 to July 10, 2013. During his service, he received multiple awards. He received the Army Commendation 1st, 2nd and 3rd Award Medals, the Army Achievement 1st and 2nd Award Medals, The Army Good Conduct, 1st, and 2nd Award Medals, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, the Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, NATO MSM, the Overseas Service Bar 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Awards, the Overseas Service Ribbon 1st and 2nd Awards, the Parachutist Badge, and the Driver and Mechanics 1st and 2nd Badges. Matthew also made horseshoes for Ronald Regan’s funeral and was part of the caisson for the funeral. He was part of George Bush’s Inauguration and part of the Joint Task Force as well as part of the Twilight Ceremony in New York City. Matthew is survived by his daughter, Abigail Brook Haroulakis of Roanoke, VA; his son, Philip James Haroulakis of Roanoke, VA; his brother, Jeremy Haroulakis of Indiana; his sisters: Christina (Mark) Tway of Milford, IN; Andrea (Travis) Birch of Ohio; his parents, Richard and Ann Haroulakis; and his best friend, Amanda Brown. Matthew is preceded in death by his nephew, Bobby Tway; his adopted father, William Haroulakis; and his grandparents, Forrest and Irene Creighbaum. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home (115 S. Main St., Bourbon, IN 46504).
