Obituary Matilda Faye Hampton Sams, 75, wife of Paul E. Sams, went to heaven on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at Clark Regional Medical Center. A native of Winchester, Kentucky, she was born on February 27, 1947, to the late Eugene and Jean Crawford Hampton. In addition to her husband of 57 years, she is survived by her beloved daughters, Tina (Bill) Leach and Bobby (Tommy) Johnson; son, Paul (Heather) Sams; grandchildren, Robbie (Shay) Leach, Bryan (Katelynn) Leach, Jeanna Holt, and Luke Johnson; great grandchildren, Dylan Friend, Sarah Watkins, Carter Leach, Ryder Leach and Raelynn Leach; several nieces, nephews, and one special great niece, Megan Robinson; brother, Charlie Hampton; and her puppy, Smokey. She was preceded by her parents and loving brother, Danny Hampton. Services will be at 1:00PM, Thursday, December 29, 2022, by Dr. Ed Mesta at Scobee Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Clarmont Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Austin Miller, Bill Leach, Robbie Leach, Bryan Leach, Luke Johnson, and Kevin Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Ellen Gilvin, Megan Robinson, Jeanna Holt, and Vicky Lynn Wells. Visitation will be from 12:00PM until time of service at Scobee Funeral Home.
