Flood MaryEllen was the beloved wife of Joseph C. Flood, devoted mother of Michael, Christa, Thomas (Michelle) and Ryan (Kristen). Special grandmother to Liam, Sean, Ryan, Rylee and Charlee and also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She took pride in the family that she built with her loving husband Joe of 53 years. Their love story was one of a kind. They were a devoted couple who loved with their whole hearts and inspired everyone to be the very best version of themselves. They enjoyed hosting sleepover parties with their grandchildren, planning outings and gatherings, as well as spending long days at the beach with their family. As a fantastic cook and baker, she shared this talent with everyone as she never came anywhere without one of her famous desserts. Her love of cooking was also weaved into her friendships as they gathered monthly to share food and laughter at their monthly gourmet dinners. MaryEllen always put her family first, but extended her loving care to all; from her family and friends to the countless patients that she helped throughout her 45 years as a Registered Nurse. MaryEllen was a natural caregiver, who was compassionate and kind. As a devout Catholic, she expressed her love for God and Church by dedicating her time administering Eucharist to ill parishioners. In MaryEllen’s 77 years, she touched the lives of all that knew her. She will always be remembered for the wonderful, compassionate, caring, and loving person that she was. Relatives and friends are invited to call Friday, January 6th 9:30-10:45 AM Resurrection of Our Lord Church 2000 Shelmire Avenue Philadelphia, PA followed by Funeral Mass 11 AM. Interment Washington Crossing National Cemetery at a future date.
