June 7 1936 December 7 2022
Mary Cecile Tyler, 86 of Morristown passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 7 at her home. She graduated from Morristown High School in 1956. Married William E. Tyler, Jr., (Bill) at age 19, gave birth to three daughters, Deborah, Penny Ann, and Ginger. For the next eighteen years, she could be found at every ballgame, field trip, PTA meeting, and fun nights. As charter members of Manley Baptist Church, Mary Cecile and Bill raised their family in Manley Church, where they were very active. Later, she became a member of First Baptist Church Morristown where she enjoyed 23 years. When her health began to decline and could no longer attend church, she would always say “ Turn on the TV and get Dean Haun going.” Mary Cecile and Bill owned and operated West Side Market for 15 years. The last 40 years, Mary Cecile owned and operated Tyler Rental Properties. Mary Cecile never met a stranger, and everyone was always welcomed in her home to share a cup of coffee and conversation where she was always very encouraging and supportive to everyone. Her quick sense of humor and kindness were hallmarks of her character. Mary Cecile Tyler was preceded in death by her parents, John and Iva Knight. Husband, William E. Tyler (Bill) Jr., Daughter, Deborah Tyler. She is survived by her daughters Penny Ann Snyder (Dana) of Boiling Springs, North Carolina, and Ginger Tyler of Morristown, two wonderful grandsons, David Tyler Snyder (Sarah) and Stephen William Snyder (girlfriend Laura). Special nieces and nephews. Although Mary Cecile was not really a dog person, we can’t forget Dingo and Alfie who never left her side. Special thanks to our friend/caregiver, Carol Ramsey, who provided Mom with the best loving care, whom Mary Cecile adored. Also, a big thank you to Dr. Rajeev Gupta and Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice for their kindness. A celebration of life will be on Saturday, December 10, visitation from 12 – 2 p.m., service to follow at 2:00 at Mayes Mortuary with Pastors Kenny Cole and Dean Haun officiating. Graveside on Sunday, December 11 at Hamblen Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church to the Timothy Initiative

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Mary Tyler June 7 1936 December 7 2022.
