Obituary On Sunday morning, Mary Lee Pettinato, 67, of Old Forge, finally went to that big casino in the sky. Surrounded by family, love, and sunshine, she peacefully fell asleep in her husband’s arms and woke up in God her Father’s. She and her devoted husband, Richard Pettinato, were united in marriage for 45 years of dancing in the kitchen, hand holding in public and far too many romantic displays of affection in front of their embarrassed but secretly proud children. Mary Lee, lovingly referred to by family and friends as “ML”, was the proud daughter of the late Rita and Cosmo Bugliani. She was raised in Kennett Square, Pa where she grew up in a small house with big love. She was affectionately known as “the peacekeeper” amongst her four siblings who constantly vied for her doting attention. In true ML fashion, she made each one of them feel as if they were her entire world, and, in all honesty, they were. ML attended West Chester University where she majored in math and minored in turning Rich down every time he asked her out on a date. Ever the relentless pursuer, he finally convinced her to accept her fate and accompany him to dinner and he has been wine-ing and dining her ever since. Shortly after marriage, they moved to Old Forge, where she proudly started an illustrious career as a computer programmer at Metlife. ML was born to be a mother and her compassion, nurturing nature, and downright zest for fun were interwoven into the most perfect of moms. To this day, the greatest mystery of all time is which of her children were her favorite, cLassified Information She securely took to the grAve. Though she was never as proud as she was when she talked about her seven grandchildren, the true loves of her life. She was often heard saying “You love your children, but you fall in love with your grandchildren.” And every single one of them fell in love with their most precious Nana. Those who knew Mary Lee, bore witness to the kindest of souls, the most compassionate of hearts and the most gracious of spirits. She enveloped everyone she met in her infinite grace and her heart and home were always open to all. Her legendary musical car rides will be remembered by all of her children’s friends. She enjoyed traveling and meeting people from all walks of life, soaking in the California sunshine, sipping wine in Italy, and stealing all of her neighbors’ cats. Perhaps the impact of her loss will be felt most deeply by Mohegan Sun, her happy place. She was preceded in death by her parents Rita and Cosmo Bugliani and her angel sister Carol Anne Bugliani as well as about 12 cats. She is survived by her loving husband Richard Pettinato of Old Forge; her daughter Lisa Buckley and her husband Bill (Redondo Beach), her son Rick Pettinato and his wife Caroline (Old Forge), and her daughter Laura Uranowski and her husband Brian (San Diego); seven grandchildren Francis, Felix and Holly Pettinato, Trevi and Capri Buckley, and Colton and Mason Uranowski; sister Elaine Falini and her husband Emidio, sister Lisa Murphy; brother Erminio Bugliani; sister- and brother-in-law Carol and Clayton Crawford, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Saturday with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Prince of Peace Parish, 123 W. Grace St, Old Forge. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 8:00AM – 10:00AM. Interment will be private in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Old Forge.
