Obituary Marlin Eugene Reinhart passed away peacefully on September 12 at the age of 96 surrounded by family at his home at Barclay Friends in West Chester, PA. Marlin is survived by his wife Dorothy Joan Reinhart, and until recently, they resided in Lehighton, PA. Also surviving are his 3 children Sheryl Kleinman (Jay), Len Reinhart (Deb), David Reinhart (Lynn), 7 grandchildren Alanna Knavitski (Chris), Travis Reinhart, Russell Reinhart (Karisa), Timothy Reinhart (Kelly), Sarah Nau (Casey), Emily Kotalik (Sean), Thomas Reinhart, 7 great grandchildren Sawyer, Harper, Luke, Avery, Hobson, Chase, Theodore, sister-in-law Kathryn (Cookie) Moyer, brother in law Ronald Moyer (Ann Marie), stepson Michael Nothstein (Renee), stepdaughter Leann Gadbaw (Tim), step grandsons David Gadbaw and Joseph Nothsein (Lauren). Marlin was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years — Helen Hood Reinhart — and his parents Russell and Lottie Reinhart. He grew up in Tamaqua, PA, and as he liked to say, he was a “happy child” during the Great Depression. He excelled in school and graduated from Tamaqua High School as Valedictorian. He entered the Navy in 1943 during World War ll where he served as an Electronics Technician’s Mate in multiple locations in the Pacific Theater. He entered Penn State University shortly after his discharge and graduated in 3 years with an Electrical Engineering degree. Weeks after graduation, he married his first wife Helen and began his career at AT&T. Marlin and Helen raised their 3 children in Mount Kisco, NY. He took an early retirement package from AT&T at age 53, and they moved to Lehighton, PA to help care for their aging parents. During his 40+ years of retirement, he golfed regularly, served as the Treasurer of the Mahoning Valley Country Club, wintered in FL with second wife Dorothy (they owned a home in Jupiter, FL), and built a custom, new home in Lehighton on the 13th hole of the golf course. Marlin also enjoyed writing about human nature and what he learned over his long life. Notably, he had over 40 articles published in newspapers in PA and FL. He had a favorite expression that he passed onto his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; when someone confronted him with a problem, he would say “It’s only a problem because you do not know the solution, so find the solution.” Marlin’s life was very well lived. A Celebration Of Life Memorial Service will be held on Sat. Sept. 24th at 10:30 a.m. at the Ovsak FH, 190 S. 4th St., Lehighton, Pa. with SALM Emma Weaver officiating.
