Marjean “Margie Rowe” was born May 25, 1937, in Wilkinson County, Mississpii to the union of Grover Rowe and Bessie Stewart Rowe. On December 17, 2022, Marjean answered her heavenly Father’s call and gained her wings at her home in New Orleans, Louisiana. Marjean was educated in the Natchez, Missisippi school system. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized at the Greater Macedonia Baptist Church in Natchez. Marjean moved to New Orleans and became a member of the Louisa Church of Christ where she was a member for many years. Later she united with the Carrolton Street Church of Christ where she remained a faithful member until her passing. After many years of service, in 2005 Marjean retired from Charity Hospital New Orleans. Marjean was preceded in death by her parents, Grover Rowe and Bessie Stewart Green; son, Terry Howard; stepmother, Lucille Rowe; sisters, Bernice Cage, Elizabeth Ann Greem, Gloria Dean Rowe, Deloris Spurlock, Matron Rowe, and Colla Jean Buckles; one special aunt, Evelyn “Girl Baby” Scott; several uncles. She leaves cherish her memories and legacy, one daughter; Melissa of Gretna, LA; two sons, David Spurlock of New Orleans, LA and Cleveland Spurlock of Atlanta, GA; three granchildren, Amanda Homer, Clelondar Spurlock and Cleveland Spurlock, Jr.; four sisters, Grover Ellen Rowe of Woodvillem MS, Clara Stull (Joseph) of Virginia, Bessie Geraldine Bradley (Cornelius) of Natchez, MS, Shirley Steele of Gretna, LA; one brother, Richard Green, Sr. of New Rhodes, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, couins, friends and neighbors. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Service honoring the life of Ms. Marjean “Margie Jean” Rowe on Friday, December 23, 2022 at D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Ave., New Orleans, LA 70125 at 10:00 am. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am until 10:00 am.
