Marilyn Hunt, 76, of Washington, passed away at 1:46am Friday, November 25, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Marilyn was born December 30, 1945 in Rensselaer, IN to the late John M. and Katherine (Stout) Powell. She married Ronald Gary Hunt on January 29, 1966 in Bartonville; he preceded her in death in 2021. They enjoyed 55 wonderful years of marriage, after being Marilyn’s first date and meeting when she was 12. Surviving are her children, Tricia (Darrell) Glenn of Washington and Jason (Jennifer) Hunt of Metamora; her grandkids, Nolan, Landon, Grace, Griffin, Jacob and Addie; siblings, Mary Alice Weaver and Stan (Angie) Powell; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her beloved brother, Steven Powell. Marilyn was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church in Washington, leading GriefShare, the hristmas Angel mission, and Crossroads Cardmakers. She served as Secretary of Clover Leaf Chapter #1002, Order of the Eastern Star and had 50+ years of membership. Over the years, she also served as the President and Treasurer of the Heather Court Condo Association and loved every minute of her 10 years as a Tour Host for Peoria Charter. Her best job was being the loving day care provider for her little loves, her grandchildren, when they were small. As they grew, grandma became their biggest fan. She attended choir and band concerts, dance recitals, taekwondo testing sessions, tons of marching band competitions, horse shows, and theater performances. She enjoyed Sunday night pizza and movie night. Grandma’s house was always filled with laughter and love. A memorial service will be held at 6:00pm Friday, December 2, 2022 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Her family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Private inurnment will be in the columbarium at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greater Peoria Honor Flight or Community Children’s Theatre. To send flowers to the family of Marilyn, please visit our floral store.
