Obituary Mabel L. Korntved, age 95, of Nekoosa, WI died Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 23, 2022 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Nekoosa. Rev. Dennis Schwalenberg will officiate, burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa, and again on Friday at the Church from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Mabel was born November 10, 1927 in the Town of Ebbe in Wood County, WI to Lewis and Ida (Schultz) Norton. She married Andy Korntved on August 12, 1947 in Marshfield, WI, he died December 7, 1994. Mabel was a fulltime homemaker and devoted her life to raising her children and taking care of the family hobby farm. She did plenty of canning during that time and was always most happy while she was outdoors. One of her favorite things was to be out on her lawn swing in the yard. Mabel enjoyed crafting, reading crossword puzzles, doing easter egg scavenger hunts with the grandchildren and traveling with her husband Andy. She was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Mabel volunteered for the Alter Guild, teaching Sunday school and did various volunteering activities in the church kitchen. She was a member of both the Women in Mission (WIM) at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the HCE Club 51. Mabel is survived by her children; David (Jeanie) Korntved of Philips, WI, George (Sue) Korntved of Wis. Rapids, WI, Howard (Sue) Korntved of Streamwood, IL, Edward (Kitti) Korntved of Nampa, ID, Robert (Lynelle) Korntved of Platteville, WI, Anna Walker of Houston, TX, Barbara (Gary) Richey of Houston, TX, Mary (Bruce) Hasenohrl of Wis. Rapids, WI, Karen (Guy) Gleason of Albuquerque, NM, Carol (Chris) Henriksen of Nekoosa, WI, 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, sister Jean Norton of Wis. Rapids, WI, Beverly Norton of Irving, TX, Sandra (Roy) Goff of Delevan, WI, and is further survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Andy Korntved, son Harold Korntved, grandson Brent Henriksen, daughter-in-law Jeanette Korntved, sons-in-law Norman Walker and Sammy Harville, sister Naomi Glessing, brothers; Emmett (Cleo) Norton, Harold Norton, Gerald Norton and Jack Norton.
