Lorna Kay Bourquin March 28, 1943 – December 22, 2022 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Age 79 of Lino Lakes, died December 22, 2022. Survived by daughters, Lisa Bell and Kristy (Tim) Adrian; grandchildren, Bradley, Matthew, Adam, Megan and Anna; sister, Karen Weber; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by husband of 51 years, Lionel “Bud”. Funeral service 11:00 AM Friday, December 30th (visitation 10-11 AM) at GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH; 1 Shepherd Court, Circle Pines. Interment Elmhurst Cemetery. Lorna grew up the youngest of 7 siblings: Loren, Doug, Audrey, Phyllis, Frank, and Karen. They lived in a house in Lauderdale, MN that her dad built. By the time Lorna was born her oldest siblings were adults and on their own. However, her brother Loren was so excited to have a sister that he wanted to name her; that’s how she got the name Lorna. Her family had a dog, named Buster, and at one point a horse where she told us her brothers would ride the horse through the neighborhood. Lorna went to Lauderdale Elementary School and graduated from Ramsey High School in Roseville, renamed to Roseville Area High School many years later. She was never one to shy from work. During high school she worked at Weber’s Cottage Inn as a dishwasher and then at Shields Café and that’s where she saw my dad for the first time. They didn’t date at that time, but they locked eyes. Lorna worked in customer service for most of her life. She worked at Brown and Bigelow, State Farm Insurance, Union Brass/Michel Sales, Superior Products/Next Day Gourmet, and retired from US Foods. Lorna married Bud in May of 1966 and they had daughters Lisa and Kristy. Their daughters were their whole world. After Bud’s passing in 2017, Lisa and Kristy became the light of Lorna’s life, and they somehow grew even closer. Her son-in-law, Tim, was a gift to her and would always help with anything she needed. Besides the girls, nothing made Lorna happier than her grandkids, Brad, Matt, Adam, Megan, and Anna. She adored them and loved how they made her laugh. In her final year of life, Lorna missed Bud so much and asked to move in with Lisa and her kids. So, to have enough room for all, they built a townhome in Lino Lakes. It was a time of excitement and joy as plans came together and decorating could commence. Lorna also loved spending time at Kristy and Tim’s cabin. She liked to relax on the pontoon and go shopping in the area towns. Her ultimate favorite thing to do was be with her sister, Karen. They loved to go shopping and literally shopped until they dropped. It was a blessing to have her as our mother and to be with her to the very end.
