Lon Edgar Morris III passed away Oct. 15, 2022. He was born Sept. 18, 1941 to L.E. and Hilda Morgan Morris. He graduated from Headland High School and attended Jacksonville State University in Ala. He went to work at Wilkins Body Shop in East Point to learn the body shop business. He later became a partner. He moved to Miami to work security for the East Coast Railway. Then went on to manage Friendly Ford. He loved fishing and found his love for the sea. He later moved to Panama City where he became a licensed boat captain. For about 12 yrs, he lived on his boat. He was often hired to transport boats to and from. He went to New Orleans to transport people and supplies to the oil rigs. When his mom became ill, he moved back to ga. He loved his family so much. He finished his work career at Southtowne body shop for 17 yrs. He lost his lost his battle with liver cancer, but he never gave up. He even went fishing in Alaska twice last year. Pappy was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Bishop Morris; both of his parents; and his sister, Patsy Morris Cordell. He is survived by 7 children, Gene (Marie) Morris , Donna (Tony) Owens, Dianne (Keith) Miller, Jimmy Morris, Lisa (Rick) Stanford, Eddie (Teresa) Robinson, and Amy (Ricky) Johnson; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
