February 20 1954 November 25 2022
Linda J. Adair, 68, of Lafayette passed away as the sun rose on November 25, 2022. She was born in Lafayette, Indiana on February 20, 1954 to Dorothy “Dot” Dowell and Clifford “Sonny” Brummett. She grew up in West Point, IN and graduated from Southwestern High School in 1972. She married the love of her life, Rich Adair, on May 4, 1991 and in their 31 years of marriage they enjoyed many wonderful vacations together. Among her favorite trips were Sedona, AZ, Kauai, HI and Ireland. Linda’s life was filled with things she loved like tea, crafts, scrapbooking, nature, animals, bread, music, and so much more. In her free time, she loved going for walks with her beloved dogs, Spunky and Baxter. What brought her the most joy was watching her grandsons in their many sports activities and granddaughters in their choir and dance performances. In her 25,115 days of life, Linda accomplished great things and changed numerous lives. Working as a paralegal for many years, she passionately aided families in their most challenging times from divorce to adoption. She provided solace and compassion to all those who needed it, both in her career and her every day life. She was a doting mother, grandmother, and wife, always acting as the glue for her family. Linda had optimism that lit up the hearts for many as she could always turn the bad into something good. Along with her husband, Rich, she is survived by her daughter Kristy Bentley, son Luke (Lisa) Adair, daughter Amie Myszkowski, and daughter Melissa (Jon) Swathwood; and her six beloved grandchildren: Laina (Jasmine), Lindsay, Carter, Jackson, Max, and Avery. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Regina Brummett. We will celebrate her life on Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 1pm – 3pm at Hippensteel Funeral Home in Lafayette, IN. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, those who want to contribute something may donate to Natalie’s No-Kill Shelter or Loving Heart Animal Shelter, as that is what Linda would have wanted. We know she is now peacefully sitting in a field of wild violets, drinking tea and smiling down on us.
