Leslie “Les”‘s Obituary Leslie “Les” D. Williams, 66, of Monette was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday, February 21, 2022 from NEA Baptist Hospital. He moved to Monette in 1975, moving there from Jonesboro. He was of the Assembly of God belief and was a faithful servant of the Lord and a prayer warrior. His family states he never met a stranger and was without a doubt the most incredible husband, dad and PawPaw. This wonderful man would spend all the time he could with his daughters fishing, riding bikes, going for walks, and having water fights in the yard. In later years he was blessed to be able to spend time and making many memories with all his grandkids who were the joy of his life. He loved watching BIC Mustangs play basketball (and was #10’s biggest fan). He loved watching his grandkids play in the school band. Les was a retired welder from Southworth Mfg. He was a reserve officer for the Monette Police Department, a member of the Monette Fire Department and served as an EMT for the Monette Ambulance service. His hobbies included bowling, fishing, hunting, gardening, camping and cooking. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Elizabeth Williams, brother, Harold Williams Jr., sister, Emmie Pankey and special nephew, Kenny Henderson. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Helen, of the home; daughters, April Myers of Monette; Lesley Anderson and husband, Travis of Black Oak; grandchildren, Gavin Anderson, Emili Carmichael and husband, Trace; Parker Anderson, and London Hope Williams; brothers, Jerry Williams, and Bobby Williams; and sister, Zellah Williams. Funeral services will be 10:00 Friday, February 25, 2022, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Justin Williams and Terry Miller officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Monette Cemetery with Garey Sparkman, Jonathan Smithee, Ricky Sparkman, Jack Sparkman, Matt Cook, and Chris “Bub” Henderson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Chad Danikan, Mark Smithee, Michael Smithee, Daniel Sparkman, Lonnie Smithee, Dewaye Cook, Chris Cox, Dennis Shelton, and Dairl Anderson. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 Thursday night at Emerson Chapel. Special thanks go to some wonderful health care providers, Dr’s, Craig McDaniel, Anthony White, Adam Woodruff, Scott Dorroh; and nursing staff Samantha French, Marybeth Cox, Shelley Rand, and Chris Coronado along with many others who showed care and compassion.
