Leonard Joseph Champagne, Sr., U.S. Army Veteran, and retired Chief Engineering Superintendent entered eternal rest on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at the age of 82. Son of the late Louis and Lillian Songy Champagne. Leonard leaves to cherish his precious memories: Daughter, Sharon Champagne-Williams; Son, Timothy Champagne (Anna), Bonus Sons; Lenn Green, George Green, Jr., William and Brandon Stokes, and a host of grandchildren, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends. Leonard is proceeded in death by his parents, Louis and Lillian Songy Champagne; beloved wife of 55 years, Rose Duskin Champagne; Son, Leonard Champagne, Jr.; Brothers, Earl, Lloyd, and Felton Champagne; and Son-In-Law, Albert Williams. Relatives and friends of the family and employees of the New Orleans Adolescent Hospital are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Ave., New Orleans, LA 70125 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM. Bishop Samuel R. Blakes of New Home Ministries, officiating. Everyone in attendance must wear a mask, Interment: Providence Memorial Park and Mausoleum, 8200 Airline Drive Metairie, LA 70003. Arrangements entrusted to: D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, New Orleans, LA.
