View Tribute Book Joseph Palmateer, 95 of Elizaville, NY passed away at home on Thursday, November 3, 2022 with his family by his side. He is the beloved husband of the late Harriett whom he married on November 21, 1959. He was born in the Town of Lloyd but resided in Hyde Park, NY for most of his life. He was predeceased by his parents Walter Palmateer and Helen Shadbolt, brothers Eddie and Victor, sisters Gertrude, Florence, Vera, Helen, daughter Donna Bruce and son Ralph Rose. Joseph is survived by his daughters Michelle (Mark) Daniels of Elizaville, NY, Linda (Mike) Palmateer of Maryland, grandchildren Heather (Jason) Graziosi of Elizaville, Crystal (Scott) Diange of Alexandria Bay, Stephen (Delora) Bruce of Brooklyn, Rebecca (Jim) Bruce of Albany, Cassie Rose, SC, Connie Rose, NC, Ralph Rose, SC, daughter-in-Law Barbara Rose, SC, son-in-law Stephen Bruce, Albany, great grandchildren Tyler, Cody, Dominique, Andre, Giovanni, Sincerity, Elana, Scotty,Ava, and Isabelle great great grandchildren Andre V, Demi, Gia and Dimas as well many nieces, nephews and friends. Joseph was a WWII veteran, a lifetime member of the VFW, a member of the Roosevelt Fire Co. District #3 for over 60 years and was currently Chaplin. Over the years Joseph worked in the vending business and Western Printing where he met the love of his life. He then drove a School bus for the Hyde Park School District for 25+ years after his retirement. Joseph couldn’t stay away from working so he was employed as another School bus driver for the Spackenkill School District until age 83. He loved to hunt, build things, help others, watch NASCAR, trout fish, camp and spending time with his family. Joseph had a heart of gold and would do anything for you. He will be greatly missed by all. Calling Hours will be held from 4pm to 8pm Tuesday November 8, 2022 at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. Funeral Services will be held at 10am Wednesday November 9, 2022 at the Funeral Home with Burial to follow at Union Cemetery Hyde Park, New York.
