Joseph “Joe” M. Janora Sr., of Cattaraugus, NY passed away August 31, 2022 at his residence at the age of 73. He was born March 17, 1949 in Buffalo, NY a son of the late John and Veronica (Buziak) Janora. He worked as a Plumber and Pipefitter for the U.A. Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 22 and previously at the Local 36. He served in the Army from 1970-1972. He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Pat” (Roberts) Janora, whom he married in Buffalo, NY on April 18, 1970; his children: John (Valerie) Janora of Cattaraugus, Melissa (Ed) Metlak of Springville, Joseph (Meghan) Janora Jr. of East Otto, and James (Jennifer Reiter) Janora of West Valley; his siblings: Georgia (Jim) Sammer, Gerry (Jim) Makowski, Marian Lucas, John Janora, Veronica (Jerry) Janiga, Sophie (Kurt) Boczarski, Shirley Janora, and Denise (Doug) Noody; his brother-in-law: Ted Kendziora; sister-in-law: Mia Janora; his grandchildren: Kent, Evelyn, David, Sam, Walker, and Quinn Janora, Eli, and Joelle Metlak, and Benjamin Reiter. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Pat Kendziora and Stan Janora; his brother-in-law: Phil Lucas; and his granddaughter: Emma Metlak. Friends may call Sunday, September 11, 2022 from 11am-2pm at the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, 271 E. Main Street, Springville, NY where a Memorial Service will follow at 2pm.
