Obituary John Robert Huff age 81 of Seymour, TN passed away peacefully at home Sunday, August 21. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Glenda Clonts Huff, daughter Sandra Huff Woodard (Joe), son John Robert Huff Jr. (fiancée Susan Hometchko). Grandson Blake Huff and granddaughter Karis Woodard. Brother Charles Huff, sisters Janice Walker (Cecil) and Yvonne Pickens, sisters-in-law Ann Huff, Helen Poston (Don), Katheryn Harrow, and brother-in-law Bill Clonts, Fran Suttie (Frank D’Antonio), Juanita Stewart (Doug), Willa Mae Weaver (Wayne) and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Roy and Genevieve Franklin Huff, brothers LeRoy Huff and Phillip Huff, Sister Evelyn Huff Neely. Sister-in-laws Linda Huff, Polly Huff and bother-in-law Norm Harrow and Chuck Suttie. John Robert served in the US Air Force where he spent 13 months in South Korea after the Korean War. While in Korea he spent his free time volunteering with local orphanages. After returning from Korea, he stood guard lining the streets of Washington DC in honor of fallen President John F. Kennedy. After serving our country he worked at Sears and Standard Knitting Mill then started his 33-year career with KUB from which he retired in June of 2000. He enjoyed vacationing and spending time with his grandchildren and loved watching their musical productions and sporting events. He enjoyed his favorite hobby of farming while at KUB then when he retired, was able to work full time in his true passion of farming. He served as a Deacon at First Baptist Seymour. Served on the Co-Op board of Directors, Sevier County Livestock Association, as a supervisor for the Sevier County Soil and Water Conservation District and on the Sevier County Election Commission. He was the Outstanding Sevier County Livestock Producer of the year in 1999. In the winter when he would not bale hay, he was a tax practitioner for Farm Bureau. He is a Past Master of Sevier Lodge 334 and Past Patron of Chilhowee 450 OES. Pallbearers are nephews Marty Huff, Scott Huff, Kirt Walker, Brian Huff, Eddie Huff, Greg Huff, Thomas Pickens, Norm Harrow, Mike Poston, Daniel Poston, and Tim Pennington. Family will receive friends from 5-6:30PM Wednesday at Atchley’s Seymour Chapel. A graveside service will be at 10AM Thursday at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Hwy in Knoxville, Tennessee. Donations can be made to the Sevier County Club Shoe Program.
