JoAnn Mary Borchert, age 83 of North Mankato died peacefully Sunday December 11, 2022, at New Perspective in Mankato. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday December 17, 2022, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in North Mankato. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. www.mankatomortuary.com JoAnn was born May 11, 1939, to Walter and Eleanor (Lunckenheimer) Neubert in Mankato, Minnesota. After high school she continued her education at Mankato State and eventually received her Masters at the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul. JoAnn was united in marriage to Curtis Borchert on March 3, 1962, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in North Mankato. JoAnn was very active at Holy Rosary as Pastoral Minister and Director of Religious Education. She also worked at the New Ulm Diocese for many years before retiring. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, sewing but most of all her work in the Catholic Church. JoAnn is survived by her two children, son Gregory (Carri Lynn) Borchert, of St. Peter and their children, Brett (Sarah) and Heather; daughter Michelle (Peder) Davisson, of Crystal and their children, Gretchen (Chris George) and Jonathan; great-grandson, Winston Borchert; two sisters, Renee Reutzel of Mankato, and Kathy Graham of Cottage Grove; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Curtis in 2012 and granddaughter Erica Lynn Borchert.
