Joann L. (Bentzel) Klinedinst, 85, died on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Walter Thomas “Tom” Klinedinst, Jr. Joann was born in York on September 8, 1936, daughter of the late Norman W. and Mabel (Givens) Bentzel. Joann graduated from William Penn Senior High School, Class of 1954. She was a member of the Outdoor Country Club and First Church of the Brethren, where she was active in many church activities. She was also part of the Red Hat Society. Joann was a loving mother and grandmother and a loyal friend to all. She loved spending time with her loved ones. Joann is survived by her son, Matthew T. Klinedinst and his wife, Elizabeth of York; her daughter, Lisa Jo Walker and her husband, Steven C. of Spring Grove; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Zifferer and her husband, Graham of York, Andrew Walker of York, Madelyn Klinedinst of Orlando, FL, and Molly Klinedinst of York; and her great grandson, Greyson Zifferer. There will be a viewing from 12 to 1p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at First Church of the Brethren, 2710 Kingston Road, York. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Joel Gibbel officiating, followed by a time of light refreshments. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery at 3:15 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Church of the Brethren, 2710 Kingston Road, York, PA 17402.
