Caputo, 88, of Speigletown, formerly of Schenectady, peacefully entered into eternal life on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany. Born in Troy, New York, she was the daughter of the late William and Ruth Ray McKnight and was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School. Mrs. Caputo was a dedicated homemaker and loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a communicant of Transfiguration Parish (formerly St. Bonaventure’s Church) in Speigletown and had been a member of the Rotterdam Senior Citizens. Jo-an was predeceased by her husband Anthony L. Caputo and a nephew, John R. McKnight. Beloved mother of Jacqueline “Jackie” (Albert) Gregoire, Charlene (John) Fogarty and Tracy (Raymond) Tanner, sister of the late Ray W. McKnight who is survived by his wife Antoinette “Toni” McKnight, also survived by five grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, several nieces and nephews and their families. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Transfiguration Parish (Speigletown) 50 Hillview Rd., Troy, NY 12182 on Friday, January 6, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the White-Sanvidge Funeral Home, 58 Leversee Rd. (RT-40 in Speigltown), Troy, NY 12182 on Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 pm. Jo-an’s family wishes to express sincere appreciation to St. Peter’s Palliative Care and to the Teresian House for their loving and compassionate care.
