Mr. Jessie Blair O’Conner, age 76, of Covington, died Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at his residence. He was the husband of Lois Linda Kershner O’Conner. Mr. O’Conner was born September 18, 1946 in Covington, the son of the late Wilbur E. O’Conner and Doris Temple Shaner O’Conner. He was employed as a compounder by Parker Powertrain Company. In addition to his wife, Mr. O’Conner is survived by a son, Scott K. O’Conner and wife, Kerensa of Covington; a daughter, Cammie L. Reynolds Charles and husband, Mark of Covington; seven grandchildren, Halley O’Conner, Amber Nicely, Caleb Nicely, Dustin Ty Reynolds and fiancé, Michaela Tucker, Colby Dillon Reynolds, Courtney Charles Walton and husband, Jake, Bethany Charles Bratton and husband, Dustin; six great grandchildren, Oakley Cartwright, Parker Cartwright, Ava Bratton, Alexis Burdette, Kendall Tucker and Nathaniel Tucker ; a sister-in-law, Dorothy O’Conner of Richmond; a brother-in-law, James Young of Hopewell and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. O’Conner was preceded in death by five brothers, Charles O’Conner (Marie), Marvin O’Conner (Betty), Bobby O’Conner, Billy O’Conner, James O’Conner and three sisters, Virginia Gormus (Paul), Phyllis Young and Dreama Musso (Steve). A family gathering will be conducted at 6:00 P.M. Monday, January 2, 2023, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hoke Chapel Cemetery at a later date. The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 877, Covington, VA 24426 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105-9959. Arrangements are being handled by Loving Funeral Home.
