Gerald “Jerry” Summers of Salem, Missouri was born April 27, 1943, in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Arie and Pearl Mausy Summers. He left this life on Friday October 28, 2022, at his home at the age of 80 years. Jerry came to Salem around 1953 when his parents bought a farm out north of town. He was taught to be a mechanic by his father and farmed together. Jerry later started a machine shop along with being a mechanic. Jerry worked faithfully until his business was lost due to a fire. After suffering the loss, he worked at Hogans Small engine, this was a time he enjoyed. His spare time you could find Jerry fishing and camping and even flying planes all great hobbies. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Arie and Pearl Summers, wife Janice “Mike” Summers, sister, Joyce Courtney and husband Bill, son Heath Hudson, daughter Rhonda Kelly. Those left to treasure his memory and continue his legacy are his wife Christine Summers of the home, children; James Toobs, Janet Koener and Finance Bill Lloyd, Brad Hudson, Ben Hudson, Dana Rickerd, brother Alfred Summers and wife Donna, 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, a host of extended family and many friends. Graveside services for Jerry will be held Tuesday November 1, 2022, at Mt Hermon Cemetery 1:00 P.M with Steve Bramblett officiating. Interment will be in Mt Hermon Cemetery.
