Jeanette Marie Oliver, 82, of Saint Johns, formerly of Bay City, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend was born into eternal life on the evening of Thursday, December 1, 2022 with her family by her side and giving her words of love throughout the day. “My flesh and my heart fail; but God is the strength of my portion forever” – Psalm 73:26 Jeannie was born on April 13, 1940 in Bay City to the late Elmer and Ethel (Farrow) Fry. She would stay home to raise her 5 beautiful children. Jeannie was loved by her children, family and friends. In her free time, she loved coloring, playing cards, doing puzzles and spending many years camping. She had many good times with her friends at Maplewood Manor and while camping. Jeannie would take her scooter out all over Bay City and Saint John’s. To carry on her legacy, Jeannie leaves her 5 children, Len Schmidt, Dawn (Dave) Glesner, Brenda (Mike) Lumm, Randy (Michelle) Schmidt and Eddie (Veronica) Schmidt; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Sue) Fry; sister, Beverly (Charlie) Reagan; several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, friends and her furry companion, her dog, Snickers. In addition to her parents, Jeannie was preceded in death by her first husband and father of their children, Leonard Schmidt; second husband, James Oliver; step-mother, Betty Fry; grandson, Chad Glesner; brother, Arnold Fry; sisters, Darlene Wright, Barbara (Fry) Mercier; and son-in-law, Gary Wales. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of McLaren Hospice of Lansing for all their compassionate care and guidance. Jeannie’s family will be present to receive visitors on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 11:00 AM until Jeannie’s 3:00 PM Life Celebration at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge & Center. Randy Schmidt will preside. Private inurnment will take place in Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Hazel Findlay Country Manor for their activities department or the Redeeming Love Christian Embassy.
