September 2 1932 February 1 2022
Jean Crosby Harville (Mom Mom), 89, of Morristown, TN, went to her heavenly home February 1st. She was a born again Christian and a devout member of First Baptist Church of Morristown since 1969. She supported and worked alongside her husband as they founded East Tennessee Diamond Co. in Downtown Morristown in 1978. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Powell and Lilly S. Crosby; her daughter Tara Jeanne; her husband Virgil L. Harville; her sister Shirley Crosby Hodges; two brothers, Dennis and Larry Crosby; and son-in-law, Joe Reed. She is survived by her son Chris Harville (Robin); daughter Lisa H. Reed; seven grandchildren, Justin Harrell (Holly), Ericka H. Goode (Will), Stephanie Harville (Chris Giles), Victoria Reed, Jessica Harville (Chad Cooper), Joseph Ryan Reed (Nicole), and Christopher Shaffer Harville; and six great-grandchildren, Powell (Braxton), Jase, Colin and Oakley Cooper, John Crosby (JC) and Christopher Harrison (Hank) Goode; sister Donna Crosby Rogers; and several nieces, nephews and special friends. She loved her Lord and spent a lot of time reading about Him. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church and loved attending until her health would no longer allow it. Jean loved her pastor, Dr. Dean Haun, and continued watching his sermons every Sunday morning. She loved to cook, create recipes, and feed her family and friends. Her lifelong dream was to one day have a cookbook with her recipes in it and she was finally able to accomplish that goal with the help of her very special friend, Wendy DeBord. Jean had a compassionate heart. She had a very strong connection and passion for children who bore the burden of sickness. She was a lifelong contributor to several different children’s foundations until her death. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in her memory to East Tennessee Children’s Hospital in Knoxville, TN or to St. Jude in Memphis, TN. The family would like to give special thanks to Avalon Hospice, Maranda Burke and other special nurses, for all the care they gave. A very special thank you to her devoted caregivers whom she loved dearly. Per Jean’s wishes, a private graveside service will be held at Bethesda Cemetery. Arrangements by Mayes Mortuary.
