Janey Easter Dunn, 73, of Webster City, formerly of Blairsburg, died on Friday, November 25, 2022, at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Visitation will be at the Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, from 11:30 – 12:30, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Janey was born on April 17, 1949, in Webster City, IA to James and Alma (Bailey) Staley. She attended the Webster City Schools, graduating in 1968, and then went on to earn her AA degree at Iowa Central Community College. On May 8, 1969, she married Theodore (Ted) Leroy Dunn, in Ft. Dodge, Iowa. While raising her family Janey worked at McGilligans, after that she worked at the Daily Freeman Journal, and then she worked as the bookkeeper at the Boondocks for 30 years. Janey enjoyed computers games, camping, fishing, and boating with Ted. Sometimes she and Ted would just get in the car and go for rides. She most of all enjoyed visits from her grandkids. Janey’s family includes her children: Sherry Spicher of Blairsburg, Tony (Heather) Ubben of Maxwell, Dawn Mathias, of Webster City, Barb (Robbie) Hadaway, of Waterloo, James Dunn of Webster City, and Kevin Dunn of Cushing, OK; siblings: Judy (Dean) Haack of Eugene, OR, Jerry (Pam) Staley, of Webster City, Jolene (Curt) Dammen, of Shelly, MN, Joyce (John) Mischel, of Ankeny, IA Juanita Staley of Ankeny, IA and Jone’ (Miles) Golly of Ankeny, IA; 17 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two siblings: John Staley and Janice Payne; and great granddaughter Aubriana Christian.
