James (Joe)’s Obituary Services for James (Joe) Floyd Murray, 83, of Ada are 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday at Criswell Funeral Home. Joe passed away on the afternoon of December 14, 2022, at McAlister hospital. He was born to Floyd and Virgie Murray on October 17, 1939. He attended Ada schools and graduated from Ada High School in 1957. Joe was employed by Brockway Glass Company for over 30 years. Joe had a lifelong passion for sports and was a very proud member of Ada High’s 1955, 1956, and 1957 State Championship Football teams. He received a football scholarship from Oklahoma University in 1959 and enjoyed many years coaching and umpiring Ada area little league baseball. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Peggy, of the home; two sons, Chris Murray of Wynnewood, OK and Scott Murray and wife Tracey of Orlando, FL; daughter, Penny Blanchard and husband Mark of Tupelo, OK; and his grandchildren Galen Hesson, Madison Keith, Hunter Murray, Liberty Murray, Connor Murray and Amelia Murray; and great-grandchildren Rowan Williamson and Radly Foster.
