Bendyna, James H. “Bam Bam”, Sr., – 76, of Maple Shade, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022. Born June 12, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA, and lived in Maple Shade, NJ. James was predeceased by his parents Rita (Gerlack) and Constantine Bendyna, and son Michael J. Thane. He is survived by his sister Connie (Bendyna) Stokes, his children, James H. Jr. (Sarah), Cherie, Sean, Sarah and Michael Wilson. He is also survived by his 3 grandsons Kadin,Brandon and Mason. James was offered a job with Hallmark designing greeting cards right out of high school, but followed in his father’s footsteps and worked as a pressman for the Philadelphia Inquirer. After leaving the Inquirer, James went on to drive trucks for Mansfield and Jevic, which gave him the opportunity to see the American landscape. He finally retired after working as a maintenance worker for the Arbors in Maple Shade where he resided. James was a member of the Aqua String band and played the banjo in the Mummers Parade. He was a big fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies and also enjoyed playing on the Inquirer softball and Riverside pool teams. His hobbies included reading, crossword puzzles, watching movies, and rock-n-roll music, which was evident by his mass collection. He was a loyal card-carrying member of the South Jersey Independents, Polish American Club, NRA and the Handyman Association. His number one joy in life was the freedom of riding his Harley Davidson. James will be missed by his family and friends, who will cherish his memory. In lieu of a funeral, family and friends are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life for James at the Polish American Club 319 Main Street, Delran, NJ on October 22, 2022 from 12p -3pm.
