Obituary Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends. View Tribute Book Dr. James D. Webb, aka “Doc Webb” (age 80) entered into glory November 26. He is survived by his wife, Joyce, of 57 years; his children, David (Melissa) Webb, Barb (John) Condon, and Richard Webb; grandchildren Shauna Willbur, Saige Homoki (Sam Vandewater), Sierra (Levi) Newman, Sydney Homoki (John Wax), Rio Webb, Presley Webb, Jacob (Kryslyn), Jonathan, Valerie, and Veronica Herioux, Aidan, Caitlin, and Delaney Condon, seven great grandchildren, sister Joyce (Bob) Storms, and in-laws Arla Webb, Cheryl & Tom White, Kathy & Gary Petry, Jack & Sally Molenkamp, Karen & Bob Ford, and Jim & Kathy Molenkamp. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne & Florence Webb, and his brother, Bob Webb. Jim was born in Los Angeles on September 14, 1942 and grew up in the Midwest and graduated from Rogers High School in Wyoming, MI. He also graduated from Wheaton College and Wayne State University School of Medicine. Jim interned at Butterworth Hospital for one year before serving for three years in the US Army in Germany. He did a five-year general surgery residency at Butterworth before going into private practice in Fremont beginning in 1977. Jim moved to Byron Center in 2008. Throughout his life, Jim made many trips to Africa and Haiti to work in mission hospitals. He also enjoyed singing and playing the saxophone. Jim served on the board and in music ministry at Anchor Point Bible Church in Muskegon. He was also an active board member of Bethesda Mission, Grace Ministries International, and Grace Christian University. Jim loved Volvos and was a prior president of the Great Lakes Chapter of the Volvo Clubs of America. Visitation will be Thursday evening, December 1, at Zaagman Memorial Chapel, 2800 Burton St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI from 5:30 to 8:00pm and at Anchor Point Bible Church, 635 Seminole Rd, Norton Shores, MI at 10:00am on Friday, December 2, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00am.
