She followed her sweetheart from her small town to the big city and lived happily ever after for 67 years. Now she’s followed him again so that they can be together forever. On Friday, December 16, 2022, Irene (Manolakos) Redmond passed away after heroically battling multiple illnesses. She follows her husband, William Redmond, on her next journey. She is survived and will forever be missed by her children, William Redmond Jr. (Victoria), Sharon Redmond Shea (Jerry) and Scott Redmond (Susan). She will be missed by her seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She will be missed also by the many nieces and nephews that she loved. Irene was a powerhouse of a person in a tiny package. A friend described her as the woman everyone wanted to be, “she could cook, bake, clean and decorate all the time being stylish and holding down a full-time job”. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Always there to support and help those she loved. She was a tough cookie with the softest heart. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Friday December 23, 2022 at BURNS FUNERAL HOME, 9708 Frankford Ave. Phila., PA 19114 from 10:00 AM – 11:15 AM followed by her Service at 11:30 AM. Interment Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Irene Redmond February 1 1933 December 16 2022.
