Obituary On the morning of December 10, 2022, Irene Loom Windsor, passed from this life and was reunited with her adored husband. She was the beloved wife of Douglas Windsor who predeceased her; loving mother of daughters Christine Campbell (Jack) and Laurel Morgan (Tim); proud grandmother of Tim, Justin, Amanda, Heather, Colleen, and Sarah; and great- grandmother of Jarod, Zoe, Jack, Jonah, Dena, Constantine, Luca, Audrey, Aleyah, Silas, Dominick, and Mila. She is also survived by her sister, Lily Killick of England. Irene was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Sarah Loom, her brother Bill, and sisters Rose and Audrey. Mom was a war bride and came to the United States in 1951, becoming a USA citizen in 1957. She was a Navy wife, following her husband from Cuba, Scotland, and various stateside posts. Irene was a longtime resident of Norfolk, Virginia, before moving to the San Antonio area. She loved her daughters and sons-in-law, doted on grand- and great grandchildren. She was strong in her faith in God. Interment will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on January 13, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. followed by a memorial service at Helotes Hills United Methodist Church at 2:30 p.m. in Helotes, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, two charities dear to her heart.
