Funeral services for Huey Earl Gough will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Spring Hill Baptist Church, with Rev. Dr. Scott Davis officiating, Sis.Kristy Dunn reading the eulogy, and Bro. Jeff Masters closing. Interment will follow at Roberts Cemetery, under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia, LA. Huey Earl Gough age 85, was born March 1, 1937, in Columbia, Louisiana to the union of his parents, Ray Gough and Claudia Coates Gough, and passed from this life December 30, 2022, at Hardtner Medical Center in Urania, LA. Huey was a good man. He was quiet, complex, and down to earth. Huey graduated Kelly High School, then joined the Army. He served his country in Korea and was very proud of that. In the Army they change the name of titles so he was sure to let everybody know he was a Corporal and not a Specialist. After serving his country, he married Carolyn and went to work. Huey worked hard to provide for his family, that he dearly loved. He loved family time, especially when it was time to cook and eat. Even though Huey loved to eat and fill up on food, the grandkids and great-grandkids filled up his heart. Huey loved blue grass music, and enjoyed singing it. Huey collected any type of musical instument. Huey used to debate a lot in life, but later on decided being nice changes everything, so just make peace. Huey stood for his beliefs and he loved Trump. Huey was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Curtis “Slick” Gough; his brothers: Larry Gough and Marshall Gough; his sisters: Patsy Gough King, Dixie Gough, and Cecil Gough Humphries; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Curt and Alice Hatten; and a brother-in-law, Corporal Cliff “Red” Farley. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of over sixty-three years Carolyn Gough; sons: Wyndell Gough and Michael Gough (Christy); daughters: Toni Lynette Gough Davis (Rev. Dr. Scott), and Linda Renea Gough DeLoach (Joey); his brothers: Benny Gough (Becky), and Dr. Ronnie Gough (Virginia); his sister, Billie Ray Farley; grandchildren: Scottia Davis Fulks (Neal), Scott Davis Jr, Heather Davis-Cox (Ryan), Christopher DeLoach, Austin Gough (Hannah-Kate), Hana Gough, Harley Gough Saulsbury (Jase), Lindsey Mayo, Michael Mayo, Garrett Mayo, Colton Mayo, Jacie Paul, and Tyler Paul; great-grandchildren: Timbre Fulks, Harmony Fulks, Benjamin Fulks, Samuel Fulks, Anniston Cox, and Grayson Saulsbury; as well as a host of family and friends. Pallbearers include Scott Davis Jr, Austin Gough, Cristopher DeLoach, Ryan Cox, Neal Fulks, and Jase Saulsbury. Honorary pallbearers include Mickey Ellis, Larry Humphries, Tracy Humphries, AB Masters, Eddie Dunn, Rob Laird, Ronnie Laird, Burl Braddock, and Lane Womack.
