View Tribute Book Long time Palmer resident, Henry Sherman Towner, died on November 26, 2022, at Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage in the presence of loved ones. He was 85 years old. A funeral service will be held at Kehl’s Palmer Legacy Funeral Home located at 209 S. Alaska Street in downtown Palmer on Friday, December 2, at 2 PM. A burial at Valley Memorial Park Cemetery will be conducted this coming summer. Henry was born August 22, 1937, in Deming, New Mexico. He moved to Palmer with his parents in the summer of 1955 where he met his future wife, Roberta Sharp. He was employed as a mechanic and machinist. His hobbies included wood turning, rock hunting, inventing and creating things. He is survived by his children, Wyatt Towner, Ramona Van Gelder, Henry Towner; grandchildren, Elizabeth Corey, Rachel Knauss, David Towner, Alexis Towner, Truman Towner, and Thaddeus Towner; and 5 great-grandchildren; his sister, Lucille Frey; sister-in-law, Mary Williams; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; Roberta Towner; father, Henry Towner; mother, Lena Caudill; stepfather, Lee Caudill; sister, Jackie Vanek; brother, Pat Williams; brother’s-in-law, Ray Vanek and Al Frey.
