Life Reflections Mr. Harold Martin, Sr., 82, husband of Edna Mae Scott Martin departed this earthly life and entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 in Columbia, South Carolina. Born in Richland County on May 10, 1940, he was a son of the late Zeb Martin and Carrie Curry Martin. Mr. Martin, affectionately known as “Hawk”, was educated in the Richland One School District and was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. He accepted Christ at an early age and attended First Nazareth Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member and attended services each Sunday. For over forty years Mr. Martin was united in Holy Matrimony to Edna Mae Scott and to this loving union, two children were born. Mr. Martin was employed for many years at Holbert Manufacturing Company of Columbia, where he retired after twenty 20 years. Soon after retiring, he returned to the workforce as a smiling face at BILO grocery store in Cayce, SC. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, eating, playing horseshoes, watching his favorite sports teams, and spending time loving and laughing with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father Zeb Martin, and mother, Carrie Martin; his son, Harold Martin, Jr.; and two brothers: Leon Martin, Sr. and Darryl Martin, Sr. Mr. Harold Martin, Sr. leaves to celebrate and cherish his full and beautiful life, his loving wife of Edna Mae Martin of, Columbia, SC; son, Ricky Martin of Columbia, SC; three loving grandchildren, Justin Martin, Ricardo Martin, and Brittany Martin; two sisters: Christine Lucas and Alma Martin, both of Columbia; four brothers; Walter (Janie) Martin, Wayne (Sonya) Martin, Larry (Pat) Martin, all of Columbia and Jimmie (Lucy) Martin, NC; four sisters-in-law, Patricia Martin, Linda Martin, Will Ann Scott and Henrietta Wilson all of Columbia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many other loving relatives and caring friends, all of whom will miss his great smile and big personality.
