Glen “Pappy” Willis of Mayfield passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022 at the Jackson Purchase Medical Center. He was born in Dublin, KY on July 14, 1933 to Coy and Calie Willis. Pappy was a retired laborer at General Tire and a member of His House Ministries. He was 89 years old. Pappy is survived by his four children, Ricky Willis (Jenifer), Debbie Elliott (James), Becky Minter (Ken), and Karen Willis; three stepchildren, William Michael “Bill” Turnage (Debbie), Steven Freeman (Shae), and Jason Freeman (Jodi); son-in-law, Ron Hagel; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ruby Harding, Wilma Cavender (Ben), and Fay Black; and brother, Eugene “Cotton” Willis. Pappy was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Willis; parents; daughter, Diane Hagel; sister, Sue Colley; and brother, Robert Willis. Funeral services for Pappy will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield. Ricky Willis and Rev. Stephen Boyken will officiate the services with entombment to follow at the Mayfield Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield.
