Obituary Gerald Sorrells “Bugger” Welch, age 90, of Petersburg, TN, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Donalson Care Center. He was born on July 4, 1932, son of of the late William Oliver and Lizzie Mai Sorrells Welch. He was a veteran and a retired employee of the Farmers Co-Op. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife: Millie Ruth Smith Welch; sister: Edith Wels; and brother: Marion Welch. Mr. Welch is survived by his daughter: Sylvia (Ricky) Wilburn of Lewisburg; sons: Jackie (Julie) Welch and Darshall Welch all of Petersburg; grandchildren: Janessa Mills, Houston Welch and Jacob Wilburn; and great grandchildren: Corley Mills, Tripp Mills, Darcy Jo Welch and Ophelia Welch. Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Old Orchard Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Gerald Sorrells Welch. Read more
