George DeLacerda December 16, 1953 – December 27, 2022 George Dwayne DeLacerda passed peacefully December 27, 2022. George was born December 16, 1953, to Curtis DeLacerda and Jimmie Sue Nolley DeLacerda in Natchitoches, Louisiana. George was a graduate of Jonesboro-Hodge Highschool in Jonesboro, Louisiana. He then moved to Dallas, Texas and attended United Electronics, graduating as Valedictorian. He began his professional career as instructor and Vice-President of Video Technical Institute, at which time he met and married Marcasue Mills DeLacerda of Denton, Texas. George enjoyed an over 40-year journey in Broadcast Engineering with KTXA (Channel 21), notably overseeing the transition of transmitters from Arlington to Dallas for the construction of Rangers Ballpark. He also worked as a Site Manager for Richland Towers for transmitter tower farms, as well as RIO Steel overseeing projects and technical drawings as CAD Manager. George and Marcasue had a beautiful marriage of 49 years and have one son, Robert DeLacerda. George spent most of his non-professional time with the Boy Scouts of America, Circle Ten Council, and former Wisdom Trail District. Seeing Robert from Tiger Cub to Eagle Scout, attending district and council meetings, achieving Vigil in the Mikanakawa 101 Lodge for Order of the Arrow, a Silver Beaver Award, Wisdom Trail District Manager, Instructor and Coordinator for Shooting Sports, and multiple Wood Badge courses were some of his proudest moments. George DeLacerda was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Jimmie Sue DeLacerda. George is survived by his wife, Marcasue DeLacerda; son, Robert DeLacerda; brother, Sammie DeLacerda of Jonesboro, Louisiana; and sister, Dorothy Whisman and her husband Bill Whisman of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; brother-in-law, Billy Mills of Denton, Texas; nephews and niece, Marcus Mills, Slade Turner, and Kelsey Whisman.
