View Tribute Book George Buron Green, Jr. of Cedar Hill, Texas, was a loving, caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He departed for his eternal home in Heaven on Friday, December 9, 2022, at the age of 90. George was born on August 7, 1932 to his parents, Agnes and George Buron Green, Sr. in Dallas, Texas where he graduated from Sunset High School. After his marriage to Mary Neel McDermott in 1950, George worked for International Harvester Co. and Campbell Soup Company. In 1963, he, along with his father and brother, David L. Green, founded Dallas Commercial Warehouse, Inc. In 1973, George left the warehouse business for a short while when he was asked to take over the position of Financial Aid Director for Dallas Baptist College (now University) before returning to the family warehouse business in 1976. After his retirement in 1994 until 2000, George worked in ballpark security and in guest relations for the Texas Rangers Baseball Club which he greatly enjoyed. He also volunteered in various positions for both the City of Duncanville and City of Cedar Hill. Both he and his wife were/are lifetime members of Cliff Temple Baptist Church where he served teaching in the youth and college departments, as an officer on both the junior and senior Board of Deacons, and a myriad of other church duties. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Agnes Green, Sr. and sister-in-law, Anne Green. He is survived by his wife, Mary Neel McDermott Green, his brother, David L. Green, his daughters, Cynthia Pettit and Sherry Pettijohn (Todd), his grandchildren, Josh Pettit (Carrie), Jamie Pettit Nabors (Brent), Kelly Pettijohn Coffman (Geoff), and Nathan Pettijohn (CJ), and his great-grandchildren, Autumn Morris, and Jensie and Edwin Pettijohn along with many nieces and nephews. Celebration of Life for George B. Green, Jr.: The family visitation is from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Jaynes Memorial Chapel, 811 S. Cockrell Hill Rd., Duncanville, TX on Wednesday, December 14th. The Memorial Service is 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 15th, also at Jaynes Memorial Chapel.
