Obituary East Montpelier, VT Gary Edward Hudson, 77, of Brazier Road passed away on Saturday, March 12th at the UVM Medical Center in Burlington, VT. He was born on July 10, 1944, the son of Edward and Elizabeth (Coppins) Hudson. Gary attended the East Montpelier Center School House until he attended Montpelier High School, where he graduated in 1963. After High School, Gary enlisted in the Vermont Air Guard. He served there as a Master Sergeant until 1995 when he transferred to the Army National Guard. Gary retired in 2001 as a Staff Sergeant in the Vermont Army National Guard. On June 11, 1966, Gary married Pamelia Brunelle at the Holy Cross Church in Morrisville. Gary was a member of the Old Meeting House Church, the Masons Wyoming Lodge No. 80 F+AM in Plainfield, a former member of the East Montpelier Gully Jumpers, and he served on the East Montpelier Cemetery Commission. Every year Gary looked forward to Vacationing in various places in Maine, including Old Orchard Beach and Pine Point Beach. Time at his family’s camp was spent fishing in the early peaceful morning and talking with his friend and camp neighbor Dick “Carp” Carpenter. Gary enjoyed hunting with his son, Kevin. Together they took many Deer, and even a bear once. One of Gary’s proudest moments was the he won his moose permit and with the help of a guide, bagged a beautiful Moose. In his early years, he enjoyed Downhill and cross-country skiing, Snowmobiling, and even water skiing. In the Spring, Gary always looked forward to sugaring season. He never missed a chance to buy his wife a beautiful piece of jewelry for those special occasions. And when the time came where he could no long shop for these items, Gary would make his own cards with stickers and cash inside. Survivors include his wife, Pam Hudson of East Montpelier; his son, Kevin Hudson of Peacham Pond; his sister, Joanne Hudson and her husband David of East Montpelier; his brother in laws, Larry Benedini and Bill Pollock; and his sister-in-law Sherri Hudson; many nieces and nephews; and finally, his beloved grand dogs, Chance and Jeb. He was predeceased by his siblings, Tim Hudson, Judy Benedini, and Pami Pollock. He was also predeceased by his beloved dog, Angel Marie the 12th. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service and Masonic service will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Guare & Sons Funeral Home in Montpelier. A committal service will be held in the spring at the Doty Cemetery.
