Obituary of Francis Robert Endres Colonie – Francis R. Endres, Sr., 91, died Sunday September 18, 2022, after a brief illness at the Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland. Born in Albany in 1931, he was the son of the late Regina Gardner and John Endres. He was raised and educated in Albany before moving to Colonie in 1962. Frank was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He was employed as a Sheet Metal Worker and retired from Martin Keller Roofing. He was a 60+ year member of Sheet Metal Local Union 83. He was a self-taught master of all trades and there was nothing he couldn’t fix. Frank was the husband of the late Joan E. Kuhn, who died in 1998; beloved father of Cindy Endres and Frank Endres, Jr.; brother of Regina Schauer and the late John Endres; brother-in-law of Edward Kuhn and the late Joseph Kuhn. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside military service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205 would be appreciated. Frank’s children would like to extend a special thank you to our cousin, Tammy Warnken, for her compassionate care of all of us. Thank you also to Drs. Mark Fruiterman, Douglas Hargrave, Alysaa Phyars, Sharon Tietgens and Jeffrey Uzzilia for the excellent care provided to their father for many years.
